South CARS 1980 Roster

The 1980 Southcars Roster was only 8 pages long. We had $5.00 annual dues and membership cards were issued. Member numbers varied from year to year as Ed Gfell (our treasurer) would assign a number to each member based on the order in which dues were paid. For example, if I were the 244th person during a calendar year to renew my dues, then my membership number was 0244.

Computers weren't too common back in those days, so quarterly news letters were mailed out to the "dues paid" members. Wish I had saved a couple of mine! If anyone out there has one in their archives, send it to me and I'll add it to the site.

This copy was obtained from Roy N4ZUA. Ron (WA4HWN) reworked the images to improve their condition to the point where they are readily readable on line. I found that by reducing color content to 2 and then creating a negative that the negative is much easier to read than the positive.
