Fred W4FHC was born in Douglas, Georgia in 1948 and graduated high school from Fort Myers High School, Fort Myers, Florida. Fred retired with 24 years of service from the United States Air Force as a Senior NCO. Having spent 6 years in Southeast Asia with two locations in Vietnam, Danang AB and Camrahn AB. Fred then worked as an assistant store manager for Winn-Dixie until 2007. Fred has one son who is carrying on the family military tradition (four generations) with service in the USAF. Fred holds an extra class license and lives in Goldsboro, NC the home of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Fred has been heard on the air to say, when talking about Seymour Johnson AFB “Where Freedom Rings Everyday”.
